Washington State University Vancouver will host a free public presentation March 24 on preparing for the aftereffects of a major earthquake. The one-hour presentation will be offered at two times, noon and 2 p.m., in the Dengerink Administration Building, Room 110, 4204 N.E. Salmon Creek Ave.
Scott Johnson, emergency management division manager for Clark Regional Emergency Services Agency, will explain what to expect and how to prepare for a Cascadia Subduction Zone earthquake, also known as “the Big One.”
Raffle prizes and 100 starter kits will be given. Park at meters or in the Blue Daily Pay lot for $3.
Guests can browse emergency products, learn about local resources and pick up a snack while supplies last in Dengerink Administration Building, Rooms 129 and 130 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Vendors are the American Red Cross, Emergency Essentials, Thrive Life and Titan Ready USA.
